Spring Gathering 2023
The Spring Gathering 2023 was situated at HVL, Kronstad, at 31st May and 1st June, with around 50 people from academia, companies and industry clusters participating. HVL’s facilities was very, and suited our purpose very well.
The first day the focus was on dataflow through interfaces; from ocean to cloud. We started out with introductory presentations from the centre director and the leaders of the work-packages, before having groupwork on requirements and conditions for the various interfaces.
It is important that the activity in the Centre (both the measurements from the sensors and the underwater communication) doesn’t affect the marine life. Therefore, it was very useful for us to get 2 different presentations on “Impact acoustic wireless communication», one from researcher Lise Doksæter Sivle, IMR, and one from researcher Beatrice Tomasi, NORCE. Their perspectives and knowledge will come in handy when planning deployment of equipment.
A board-meeting ended the formal program for the day, before the dinner.
On the second day of the gathering the topic was primarily on testing. What test-facilities do we have, what do we need, and can we define good test criteria for the various tests? We also got a good status-report on the development of the main test-site at Austevoll.
